On behalf of everyone here at blurbshare and your countless new neighbors, welcome to the neighborhood! Sharing with your neighbors through blurbshare can be a truly rewarding experience. Your neighbors can offer you a unique and personal perspective on all aspects of life that can be difficult to find anywhere else. We hope you encounter bundles of enjoyment while exploring this new neighborhood, posting blurbs of your own, and sharing the blurbs of others.
This neighborhood is a special place. Through blurbshare, you are able to receive honest, personal, and pertinent information directly from your neighbors. The words inside each blurb are not written by corporate giants, government agencies, needy salesmen, or robots on Neptune – but instead are written by real people like you. At blurbshare, we pride ourselves on not altering your blurbs in any way.
At the same time, we also realize that our neighborhood – like any other neighborhood on planet earth – is only as good as the buildings and the people that inhabit them. Now, the people part is easy. From where we’re sitting, you seem like an upstanding, generous, peace-loving, kind, upbeat and just generally easy to get along with person. This is good news. It means you’re going to get along with your neighbors. They’re just like you.
Instead, let’s talk about the buildings. Though blurbshare may not have any physical buildings, your blurbs act as the gathering places, restaurants, living rooms, and town halls of the neighborhood. Therefore, in an effort to keep our neighborhood graffiti, litter, and crime free, we ask that you:
1.) Refrain from use of foul or inappropriate language in your blurbs. This includes (but is not limited to) four letter words, racial slurs, five or six letter words that have the same connotation of said four letter words, hateful language, or things that you wouldn’t want your great-Aunt Agnes to hear you say. This type of language is also prohibited from being used in your shares as well.
2.) Blurb in appropriate areas. This neighborhood is growing larger every day. We would not want your blurb about enjoyable attractions in Bermuda to become lost among the classifieds. For the benefit of your neighbors and the overworked citizens that maintain the site, please post your blurbs in the correct fields.
3.) Blurb only about what you know. The primary function of this site is to create a neighborhood of accurate, helpful, and insightful information. Your neighbors will look towards your blurbs when preparing dinners, choosing schools, raising their children, picking a movie, or any other of the myriad of activities that make up day-to-day life. Please do not provide them with information that is inaccurate, outdated, or just made up. If you give honest information to your neighbors, we’re sure they’ll give the same back to you.
4.)
Do not blurb about yourself. This one is for all our crafty entrepreneurs out there. Please do not SPAM up the neighborhood with self promotional blurbs. If you own a restaurant, please don’t blurb about how great your chicken is. Is you own a hotel, please don’t blurb about how comfortable your beds are. This really defeats the purpose of what this neighborhood stands for.
If you follow these neighborhood guidelines, blurbshare can be a helpful, useful, and fun tool for you to interact with your neighbors. However, if any of these guidelines are breached, we will be forced to delete your blurb (and in some cases, your account).
That being said, we hope you enjoy your time in the neighborhood. As we mentioned before, blurbshare really is a special place. The blurbs you post will make a positive impact on the lives of your neighbors. And we’re sure that if you look around long enough, you’ll find a blurb or two that will make a positive impact on yours.
Remember, life is easier when you share.
Thank you for taking the time to read these guidelines.
Once again, Welcome to the Neighborhood.
